Apple’s New Lincoln Road Store to Open on April 24th

Apr 17 2015

Apple’s perpetually thronged Lincoln Road store is about to get a little relief because their brand new, much larger store designed by Touzet Studio is finally opening just down the street on April 24th, the day the Apple Watch was supposed to hit stores, even though now it’s not. Until then, the store is shrouded in black tarps and a new mural that Apple commissioned by “internationally renowned contemporary artist” Alex Brewer, better known as HENSE. Notice the strategic, but subtle placement of Apple products (an iPhone and Beats headphones) in the promo photography.

The design of the store, when it opens without the Apple Watch, will reflect Lincoln Road’s historic automobile showrooms of the 1920s and 30s, one of which, the former Chrysler showroom, their current store is located in. Curbed also got an early look inside, when it was still an empty shell.
