Apr 28 2017

City Furniture has signed a 28,000-square-foot lease at Eve at the District, a mixed-use building recently completed on the border of Midtown Miami and the Design District.

Comras Co.’s Michael Comras and Irma Figueroa , represented developers Mack Real Estate Group and Wharton Equity Partners in the deal. Monette Klein-O’Grady and Daniel W. O’Grady of Prime Sites represented Tamarac-based City Furniture.

“District 36 [Eve at the District] is perfectly positioned to capture many of the home furnishing businesses seeking to reposition from the Design District or enter this rapidly expanding residential market,” said Michael Comras. “We look forward to filling out the balance of the space with great complementary uses.”

Having been completed at 3635 N.E. 1st Ave. in 2015, District 36 has 63,000 square feet of retail and restaurant plus 195 apartments in 19 stories. The building is visible from the heavily-trafficked Interstate 195. It was designed by Stantec.

This will be City Furniture’s 17th Florida store. The company ranked No. 20 on the Business Journal’s largest Private Companies list with $331 million in revenue in 2015.

“We are super excited about opening our new City Furniture location at the intersection of Midtown and the Design District,” said Keith Koenig, president of City Furniture. “It will be an all modern showcase of fabulous furniture at exciting values.”
